I. General Information:

Here are the requirements for training here at Mefats:

  1. At least 16 years old
  2. High school student / ALS graduate
  3. No height requirement for male and female
  4. No arm reach requirement

Airline requirements for Flight Attendants:

  1. At least 18 years old
  2. High School Graduate
  3. Height
    MALE – Should be at least 5’6" (168cm)
    FEMALE – Should be at least 5’2" (157cm)
    * Some airlines hire 5’1” applicants
  4. Minimum arm reach of 208cm (on tip-toes)

There are age requirements to become a flight attendant. These requirements may vary depending on the airline and the country. Here are some general guidelines:

Typical Age Requirements

2.1. Minimum age: Typically, 18 years old, but some airlines may require a minimum age of 21 years old.
2.2. Maximum age: Some airlines have a maximum age limit, usually around 40 years old, although this can vary.
2.3. Age restrictions for new hires: Some airlines may have age restrictions for new hires, such as only hiring candidates between the ages of 21 and 35.

Here in the Philippines, technically, due to our anti-age discrimination law, all companies, including airlines, no longer have an age limit.

It is 5 weeks but very rigid and very intensive training. There are 7 modules with 7 different instructors.

Typically, prior customer service experience is not strictly required for this flight attendant training program, but it’s highly desirable.

Your training is exactly and as complete as the cabin crew preparatory course (because this is the highest form of personality development and customer service training).

There are 2 requirements for enrollment.

  1. A government issued ID (with birth date) or a copy of your birth certificate.
  2. Your college or high school diploma copy. Or just a copy of your transcript of records.

There are physical requirements and restrictions for flight attendants. Here are some of the typical requirements:

  1. Physical Requirements:

    1. Height and Weight: Flight attendants must be proportionate in height and weight. Typically, the minimum height requirement is 5’2" (157 cm) for female and 5’6" (168 cm) for male.
    2. Body Mass Index (BMI): Flight attendants must have a healthy BMI, usually between 18.5 and 30.
    3. Vision: Having 20/20 vision is no longer a requirement nowadays. Airlines now accept candidates who are willing to wear contact lenses, but it depends on the company, as long as the vision can be corrected with lenses.
    4. Hearing: Flight attendants must have good hearing, with no significant hearing loss.
  2. Physical Restrictions:

    1. Tattoos and Piercings: Some airlines have restrictions on visible tattoos and piercings.
    2. Scars and Birthmarks: Some airlines may have restrictions on visible scars and birthmarks.
      ** Tattoos, scars, and birthmarks are allowed for as long as they are not visible in the uniform of the airline that you will be applying for.
    3. Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy, diabetes, or heart conditions, severe scoliosis, may be a restriction for flight attendants.
    4. Pregnancy: Flight attendants may be restricted from flying during certain stages of pregnancy.
    5. Injuries: Flight attendants must be physically fit and free from injuries that could impact their ability to perform their duties.

II. Curriculum and Training:

There are 7 modules (subjects) in the training, all designed to transform you into a well-rounded flight attendant candidate. These modules include Personality Development, English Communication, Aviation Recruitment Process, Cabin Safety and Emergency Procedures, Inflight Cabin Services, Aviation First Aid, and Survival Swimming. All of these are crucial to your transformation. The training is practical-based, not just the typical classroom setup. The training consists of hands-on activities.

Yes, you will receive hands-on training in this cabin crew preparatory training. The training is designed to be practical-based, with activities and simulations that mimic real-life scenarios, allowing you to practice and apply the skills and knowledge you learn.

Some examples of hands-on training you can expect include:

  1. Mock cabin simulations
  2. Emergency equipment training
  3. Evacuation slide training
  4. Firefighting training
  5. First aid and medical emergency training
  6. Role-playing exercises for customer service scenarios

This hands-on training will help you develop the skills and confidence you need to succeed as a cabin crew member.

As part of the cabin crew preparatory training, you can expect to undergo assessments and examinations, to evaluate your knowledge, skills, and competence.

Upon successful completion of the training and assessments, you will receive a certificate of completion. Your certificate from Mefats will be your best ticket to your dream job. But more than that, the knowledge you’ll gain and the significant transformations you’ll undergo will amaze you after you graduate.

Mefats have installment plan that allow students to pay tuition in weekly payments.

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer financial aid or scholarships to our students. However, we do offer flexible payment plans to help make our program more accessible.

There are no other fees that the trainee needs to pay. The tuition package is almost all-inclusive. The only exceptions are the electricity and water bills, which will be split among the trainees staying in the accommodation.

The salary depends on the airline that will hire you. In the Philippines (Local Airlines), in an average, typical FA’s salary as a starter in an Airline company is around P50,000/month. P110,000/month (International Airlines).

Yes, you will receive comprehensive training in emergency procedures and first aid as part of our flight attendant training program. You will learn how to respond to a range of medical emergency situations.

VIII. Miscellaneous:

Due to the intensive nature of our flight attendant training program, we strongly advise against traveling during the program.

Here’s why:

  1. Academic commitment: Our program requires a significant amount of time, effort, and energy. Traveling can compromise your ability to keep up with coursework and training.
  2. Attendance requirements: Regular attendance is mandatory, and excessive absences can have an impact on your graduation and certification.
  3. Training schedule: Our training schedule is carefully planned, and missing sessions can put you behind your peers.

To ensure your success in the program, we recommend minimizing travel during the training period.

If you fail to meet the training requirements, there are several consequences:

  1. Re-training: You may be required to re-take specific training modules or the entire program, depending on the severity of the deficiency.
  2. Probation: You may be placed on probation, which can impact your ability to continue in the program.
  3. Termination: In extreme cases, failure to meet training requirements can result in termination from the program.
  4. Delayed graduation: If you fail to meet specific training requirements, your graduation may be delayed until you complete the necessary training.
  5. Additional costs: You may incur additional costs for re-training, re-examination, or other requirements.

To avoid these consequences, it’s essential to:

  • Attend all training sessions.

Yes, we have a dress code policy for classes, and it’s included in your tuition package.

You’ll receive two types of uniform:

  1. Flight Attendant (FA) uniform: This is the standard uniform you’ll wear during most training days.
  2. Wash day uniform: This is a secondary uniform you’ll wear on designated wash days or as needed.

Please note that you’re expected to wear the assigned uniform on the designated days. This is an essential part of your training and preparation for a career as a flight attendant.

You may not. Mefats offers full programs that are stand-alone and non-parallel to any academic or other special programs. It has no pre-requisites.
